2011 Tournament Results

July 2nd - St Lawrence River - Morrisburg

Fish : 5 / 5
Weight : 11.95 pds
Big Fish : 3.14 pds
Placed : 55th out of 66 Teams

Comments : Our goal was to at least catch 5 fish this time around in the big water. We bombed last year and could not get any momentum and it got the best of us. We managed to replace two smaller fish to get over a 10 lbs bag. We are looking forward to Cranberry lake and another 5 in the boat. With more consistency we will eventually fish for size and definitely be elegible for the fall classic.

July 16th - Dog / Cranberry Lake - Seeley's Bay

Fish : 5 / 5
Weight : 10.60 pds
Placed : 45th out of 68 Teams

Comments : Probably the hottest day on the water as long as I can remember. Our game plan for that day was to get a fast limit in one spot that we knew held fish and then start running. With our limit, we hit our second spot by 11:30 and had to make several passes in order to start culling. At 13:30 we decide to take a boat ride to cool off and see what other teams were up to, since we didn’t have a ton of experience on this body of water.

Focusing on shoreline cover for the rest of the day, we were unable to find another kicker to give us a couple more pounds. Considering the conditions, we were somewhat satisfied with our final weight of 10.60 which leaves us 3.7 lbs out of a spot. We are looking forward to Q3 and Q4 on our home waters of the Ottawa River Rockland on Aug 6th and 7th.

August 6 & 7th - Ottawa River - Rockland

Augtust 6th
What can we say……… The good old Ottawa River, love it or hate it lol ! Pre fish got our expectations high as we located quality and quantity fish. Our game plan was to hit 2 good spots Day 1 which we knew would give us a good jump back into the run. Even with ideal conditions we only boated 3 fish totalling 7.35 lbs.

Augtust 7th
We quickly put yesterdays day in the past with the help of some elite anglers bringing us back to the simple reality of fishing. We changed our game plan to just go out for a day and look for new spots and basic techniques. This proved to be a successful pattern as we boated 5 fish totalling 11.90 lbs.

August 20th - Big Rideau Lake

Our goal for this season was to be heading into the last qualifier with a fighting chance to make it into the classic. Starting the day 21 lbs out of a spot on our home water we were very optimistic and were looking forward to our best finish of the season. We decided to run most of the day covering as much water as we could fishing finesse patterns all day. Although coming up short for a spot in the classic we achieved our endeavour by finishing with 5 fish totalling 12.95 securing 38th place for the day ending our 2nd Renegade season with our heads up high. We are already focusing on next season.
